Terms of Use

Effective 15 June 2026

By downloading or using Pipkin you agree to these terms. They're short and written to be read.

The one that matters most: Pipkin is an information and record-keeping tool, not a medical device. Nap-window predictions, feed-interval suggestions, and pattern flags are estimates derived from what you log. They are not medical advice. For any concern about your child's health, sleep, or feeding, talk to a qualified healthcare professional.

Who can use Pipkin

You must be 18 or older to use Pipkin. You use it as the parent or legal guardian of the child whose information you log, or with that person's permission. You're responsible for everything done under your use of the app.

The app

Pipkin lets you track things like your child's sleep, feeds, diapers, growth, and milestones, along with any notes you add. Tracking is free. An optional subscription ("Pipkin Plus") unlocks insights, charts, predictions, and full-resolution photo storage.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Pipkin on Apple devices you own or control, for your own family use. We keep all rights in the app itself, its name, and its design.

Subscriptions

Your content

Everything you log — including photos — is yours. It's stored on your device and, if you're signed into iCloud, synced to the private iCloud storage tied to your Apple ID, as described in the Privacy Policy. We claim no rights over it and can't read, access, or recover it.

The one exception is sharing, which you choose to switch on — see below.

Sharing with a co-parent

Pipkin lets you invite another caregiver (for example a partner or co-parent) to share a household. Sharing is optional and off until you turn it on.

When you invite someone, the household you share — including the children and events under it — is copied into Apple's shared iCloud storage so that person can see and add to it on their own device. By inviting someone you confirm you're allowed to share that information with them. Anyone you invite is also bound by these terms.

You control who you invite and can remove a co-parent at any time from within the app. Removing someone stops future syncing to them, but a copy of data shared while they had access may remain on their device or in their iCloud, which is outside our control. Sharing is handled by Apple's iCloud sharing; we still can't read or access the shared data ourselves.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and don't use it in any way that breaks the law or Apple's App Store terms.

Backups and data loss

Pipkin stores data locally and syncs via your iCloud account when available. We work hard on reliability, but you're responsible for keeping your device and iCloud account in good standing (signed in, with available storage). To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for data loss caused by device failure, iCloud configuration, or deletion you (or a co-parent you've invited) initiate.

Warranty and liability

Pipkin is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) £30.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you. Pipkin is not a medical device and must not be relied on for medical decisions — see the note at the top.

Apple

These terms are between you and Pipkin, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or to handle any claim relating to the app (including product-liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal requirement, or claims under consumer-protection law). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above and noted in release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts — unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived, in which case those apply.
